Our Story: The Clever Cookie Journey

The Spark of an Idea

In October 2019, Clever Cookie was born. At the time, it was meant to be a hobby—a way for me to rediscover my identity as a mum to my 18-month-old baby girl. I noticed a gap in the local market for high-quality, specialty cookies and set up a Facebook page to offer them to my local community.

What started as a creative outlet quickly became a family mission. My husband and I spent every spare moment building our brand and product range. Even then, we were determined to create a concept that would truly stand out, helping us become the professional business we are today.

From Local Markets to Online Sell-Outs

Within our first six months, the local response was incredible, with our market stalls selling out every single time. When the world changed during lockdown, the demand for our yummy cookies only grew.

We transitioned by building a dedicated bakery within our own home. During this time, the momentum shifted online—we were selling out our postal restocks constantly, working around the clock to supply customers across the UK. Your positive feedback and the love you gave back to us were what kept us running happily through those long hours!

Learning, Imagination & Family Growth

I started with no previous experience in the baking industry. It was a steep learning curve—filled with burnt batches and a few dropped cookie pies! But persistence paid off.

I’ve always had a vivid imagination, and every week I’d create a new flavor or idea that no one else had done before. Since those early days, I’ve become a mother of two, and starting Clever Cookie has given me a lasting sense of purpose and achievement alongside my growing family.

The Heart of the Business: Our Team

We’ve now moved into a commercial unit, allowing us to grow our "Cookie Team" and upgrade to professional equipment. While we are growing, we remain a very small team that works extremely hard because we truly care about every single order.

I have met some very special people in my employees. Their dedication is the backbone of this company, and I simply wouldn't be able to run a successful business without them by my side.
